Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro Illinois has an employment opportunity for a Family Practice physician. This
physician will join a retiring physician in practice and eventually take over the practice.  The current physician has been
practicing in the community for over 25 years.  This is an excellent opportunity to step into a busy, established practice.  
The opportunity requires inpatient and outpatient duties.  The clinic is open 9 am to 5 pm Monday thru Friday. Call is
approximately one weekend a month and one night per week (6 pm to 6 am).  You can elect to take additional call shifts if
desired.  Exceptional hourly pay is provided when on call.  The physician is required to live locally.  

The opportunity offers a competitive base salary plus incentives and on call pay. There is an opportunity to make 300K or
more with the addition of call pay.  Hamilton Memorial Hospital offers excellent benefits including paid Blue Cross and Blue

Hamilton Memorial Hospital is a 25 bed Critical Access Hospital.  CAH status allows the hospital to receive better
reimbursement for Medicare patients, assuring its financial stability.  Hamilton Memorial Hospital offers a 24-hour physician
covered emergency department and adult and pediatric medical/surgical care. Hamilton also offers inpatient and
outpatient surgical services.  Surgical Services offered at Hamilton Memorial include General Surgery, ENT, and
Ophthalmology.  The hospital also provides physical, occupational, and speech therapy; respiratory therapy, homecare,
and hospice services.  Diagnostic services offered at Hamilton include MRI, CT,  X-ray, mammography, bone density
studies, and laboratory services.  Medical specialists visiting the hospital include cardiology, dermatology, podiatry, and
ophthalmology.  Hamilton Memorial Hospital also offers an array of social and educational services to the community.  

Recently, Hamilton Memorial Hospital broke ground on an $18.5 million dollar expansion and renovation project which will
include adding all new private inpatient rooms, a therapy pool, new physician offices, new operating rooms, and a new
emergency department.  Most of the project will be complete by June of 2009.   

McLeansboro is the county seat of Hamilton County.  McLeansboro is located in picturesque southern Illinois.  The
community is 271 miles southwest of Chicago, 161 miles southeast of Springfield, 103 miles (1 ½ hour) southeast of St.
Louis, Missouri, and 60 miles west of Evansville, Indiana. McLeansboro offers easy access to interstate 57 and 64.  The
community has most everything for you and your family’s everyday needs including casual dining, shopping, supplies, and
beautiful library offering multiple actives for young and old.  McLeansboro is part of the Hamilton County School District.  
The district offers K-12, preschool, and a family resource center.  McLeansboro is also less than 30 minutes from Mt.
Vernon Illinois.
