FP or Med/Ped opportunity in Kewanee, Illinois
Kewanee Hospital is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Family Practice Physician or IM/Ped to staff the new rural health
clinic. Currently the rural health clinic is staffed by a midlevel physician. There is a need for more family care in the area.
Currently there are only 2 Internists and a Family Practice physician that has hours only 2 days a week. There is a lot of
potential for pediatric care. Taking new pediatric patients is required for this opportunity. No OB is required. Call for the
practice is 1:3. Call for the nursery is 1:3. There are about 180 deliveries a year at Kewanee Hospital. Kewanee Hospital is

Kewanee Hospital is a Critical Access Hospital in Northwestern Illinois. CAH status allows the hospital to receive better
reimbursement for Medicare patients, assuring its financial stability. Kewanee Hospital has kept pace with many innovations in
health care. The hospital offers a 24-hour physician-staffed emergency department, critical care/intensive care, adult and
pediatric medical surgical care, and a family birthing center. They also offer inpatient and outpatient surgical and
rehabilitation services, homecare and hospice services; Diagnostic services include MRI, CT, Xray, mammography, EKG, and
sleep studies. Kewanee Hospital operates a Family Health Clinic multi-specialty physician group, and the medical staff includes
physicians representing a wide variety of medical specialties including: anesthesiology, cardiology, family medicine, general
surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, orthopedics, internal medicine, ophthalmology, radiology, and urology. Kewanee Hospital
will also be opening a brand new hospital in 2008.
The new hospital and medical office building will be approximately 110,000 square. This hospital will be equipped with new
LDRP’s, private patient inpatient rooms, room service dining, on-site rehabilitation services, an all new radiology department
with state of the art technology, enhanced emergency department, conveniently located outpatient services, and many other
comforts. Kewanee is strategically located an equal distance from the Peoria and Quad Cities metro areas (less than an hour).
The community offers small town living with bigger cities just a few miles away. Kewanee is home to quality health care, public
and private schools, and Black Hawk College - East Campus. The park district is one of the largest in the state, and can boast
of providing a full range of recreational opportunities for citizens of all ages. Baker Park with its 300 acres is the site of a
popular 18-hole golf course, with a new driving range nearby.
