Family Practice Opportunity in Highland, Illinois
35 minutes from St. Louis!

St. Joseph’s Hospital in Highland Illinois has an opportunity for a board eligible/certified Family Physician/Internal Medicine
Physician to join their group.  The opportunity will be primarily outpatient/office with some low volume inpatient.   There will
be no OB required.  The physician will practice in the office suites in a building connected to the hospital.  This gives easy
access to the hospital facilities.  

The hospital provides a competitive salary guarantee based on MGMA plus production incentives.  There is no risk for
payer mix with this system.  The benefits package includes health, dental, vision, vacation time, 5 days CME time, CME
allotment, pension plan, tax sheltered annuity, life insurance, wellness program, employee fitness program, employee
assistance program, and a generous moving allotment. Student loan assistance and visa assistance may be negotiated.  
St. Joseph’s Hospital is a 25 bed Critical Access Hospital located in Highland, Illinois.  CAH status allows the hospital to
receive better reimbursement for Medicare patients, assuring its financial stability.  The hospital operates 106 beds which
includes the 25 bed hospital and long term care unit.  St. Joseph’s Hospital is fully accredited by the Joint Commission on
Accreditation of Health Care Organizations (JCAHO).  The hospital is a part of the Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS).  
HSHS is a multi-institutional health care system that sponsors 13 hospitals in 12 communities across Illinois and Wisconsin
and an integrated physician network.

St. Joseph’s Hospital is fully equipped for you and your patients.  The hospital operates a 24 hour level three emergency
room staffed with board certified physicians.  St. Joseph’s telemetry monitored acute care nursing unit also includes three
intensive care beds.  The hospital’s imaging services include MRI, CT, nuclear medicine, EKG, x-ray, stress tests, iCAD
Second Look mammography, ultrasounds, and DEXA.  All imaging is stored on PACS.   Rehabilitation services include
cardiac rehab; physical and occupational therapy, water therapy, and massage therapy.  The hospital provides surgical
services in the areas of general surgery, gyn surgery, orthopedic surgery, urology, ENT, and ophthalmology.  St. Joseph’s
just opened a Priority Care Clinic in November of 2009.  Priority Care is open seven days a week 12 hours a day.  Priority
Care cares for patients with minor illness or injury who need immediate attention.  All test results and visit information are

Highland is a dynamic rural town of 9,433 residents, located about 30 miles east of St. Louis, MO.  Highways that run through
