Mason District Hospital Internal Medicine Opportunity
Havana Medical Associates of Mason District Hospital is seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Internal Medicine
physician to join a 5 physician practice. The practice consists of one Family Physician, one Med/Ped, and two Internal
Medicine physicians. With the addition of the new Internal Medicine physician call will be shared by the Primary Care
Physicians, 1:5. The pediatrics call for the practice is rotated separate and not required of the Internal Medicine physician.
The clinic’s hours of operation are Monday thru Friday. The Internal Medicine Opportunity will be an employment
arrangement with the hospital. There will be a competitive salary plus a bonus structure that included production and non
production goals. Benefits will include malpractice insurances; health and dental insurance; CME allotment; vacation time
plus 5 days for CME. Relocation assistance is available.
Student loan assistance may be available. Mason District Hospital is a Critical Access Hospital located in Havana, Illinois.
CAH status allows the hospital to receive better reimbursement for Medicare patients, assuring its financial stability. The
hospital operates 25 beds. The ER services approximately 7,200 patients per year and staffed 24 hours a day. Mason
District Hospital is a fully equipped hospital providing services which include MRI, 16 slice CT, nuclear medicine, EKG, X-
Ray, mammograms, ultrasounds, Dexascan, sleep studies, echocardiography, laboratory services, cardiac rehab; physical
and occupational therapy, home care services, and many community support services. The hospital also provides an
outpatient clinic for visiting specialist, so that patients do not have to travel far for specialty services. Mason District
Hospital is also undergoing some exciting renovations which include 12 new patient rooms; replacement of the heating,
ventilation, and cooling systems; and creation of a new main entrance, gift shop and lobby area. Havana Illinois is a city of
3,600 located just off the Illinois River. Havana boasts a brick main street featuring historic buildings, old fashioned street
lamps, a historic movie theater, and a trolley services.
Elegant and ornate turn of the century homes surround the downtown area. This family oriented community is nestled
between the cities of Springfield, Peoria, Bloomington, and Decatur giving residents additional options for shopping and
recreation. The local area provides many opportunities for recreation and family fun. National wild life refuges and state
forests in the surrounding area provide ample resources for fishing, hunting, hiking, camping, horseback riding, and
wildlife observation. The large parks district provides residents with adult and children’s programs; a public pool, indoor
gym facilities, camping, and walking trails. Lincoln History is abundant in the area due to its proximity to New Salem, where
