Internal Medicine opportunity in Flora, IL
Clay County Hospital in Flora Illinois has an opportunity for a primary care physician, either internal medicine,
family medicine, or med/ped to join the Clay County Hospital Medical Clinic. The clinic is currently staffed with
family physicians, internal medicine physicians, a pediatrician, and nurse practitioners. The clinic provides
outpatient and inpatient care to the areas residents. The clinic does not provide OB care. The physicians have a
hospitalist rotation and rotate call and inpatients every 5th week.
Clay County Hospital will provide an excellent compensation package to the physician. The package will include a
guaranteed salary, production bonus, malpractice insurance, vacation time, and a full benefits package. Student
loan reimbursement may be available, please inquire. Clay County Hospital will consider assisting J1 visa
physicians.
Clay County Hospital has served the residents of Clay County for over 60 years. The hospital is a Joint
Commission Accredited 25 bed critical access hospital. A Critical Access Hospital (CAH) is a 25 bed (or less) rural
hospital that is certified to receive cost-based reimbursement from Medicare. This reimbursement assures the
rural hospitals financial stability in a sometimes difficult payer market. Clay County Hospital is managed by BJC
Healthcare of St. Louis. BJC Healthcare is one of the largest non profit healthcare delivery networks in the US.
Clay County Hospital provides inpatient and outpatient care to the counties residents. The hospitals services
include inpatient care, Level III 24 hour ER, Cardiac services, cardiac rehab, physical therapy, digital
mammography, CT, bone density scan, DEXA, nuclear medicine, mobile MRI, infusion clinic, lab services, and
inpatient/outpatient surgery. Clay Count Hospital also provides specialty clinics at the CCH Medical Clinic. The
visiting specialties include podiatry, oncology, cardiology, urology, orthopedic surgery, and neurology. For more

Flora, IL is a beautiful southern Illinois community of just over 5,000 residents. Flora is known as the “Garden
Spot” of the Midwest. Flora’s landscape is comprised of many parks, gardens, and beautiful green landscapes.
Flora is surrounded by gentle rolling countryside and beautiful farmland. One of the beautiful parks in the Flora
area is Charley Brown Park. This park boasts 100 acres of recreational opportunity including play equipment,
camp sites, picnic sites, walking trails, 9 hole golf course, country club and a fishing pond. Flora is also home to
the Little Toot Railroad Company. This is a miniature railroad for passengers of all ages. There are currently two
trains operating on the 1 mile track. Many special events occur at the park through the year including a 4th of July
festival, Clay County fair, demolition derbies, horse shows, tractor shows, Christmas light displays, and a
bluegrass festival. Flora also has two other recreational parks in the community. Flora offers many services to the
public including a public pool, summer sports program, public library, and a community college. Flora’s public
schools offer Pre-K through 12th grade and serve over 1450 students. The district is quite progressive and offers
many extracurricular academics and sports activities. Local shopping includes a Super Wal-Mart, dollar stores,
pharmacies, furniture stores, hardware stores, and many unique antique stores. Additional shopping and
restaurant are available in nearby Salem (25 miles), Effingham (30 miles), Mt. Vernon (45 miles), and Vincennes
(55 miles). Flora is four hours from downtown Chicago, two hours from downtown St. Louis, three hours from
