Family Practice Opportunity in Benton, Illinois
Franklin Hospital in Benton Illinois has an opportunity for a Board Eligible/Board Certified Family Practice Physician. This
physician would staff the hospital based rural health clinic. There is a lot of potential for growth with this position. There are
three physicians in the community nearing retirement. The hospital would like to staff the clinic Monday thru Friday with a
physician. A PA or NP would staff the clinic in the evenings and on weekends. Some light PA/NP supervision would be
required for this position. The position has potential for 25 patients per day starting out. Walk in patients are taken throughout
the day. A physician comfortable with performing some minor office procedures is a plus. There is no OB or prenatal care
required for this opportunity. Call for the ER and clinic is 1:5.
This opportunity is an employment opportunity with Franklin Hospital. Franklin Hospital is offering a very competitive base
salary based on the MGMA mean plus incentive compensation. There is no risk for payer mix with this opportunity. All practice
overhead is paid for by the hospital. The hospital provides excellent benefits which include health insurance, four weeks
vacation time that accumulates year to year, sick leave, 1 million/3 million paid malpractice insurance, CME reimbursement of
$3,000 per year, 10 days a year for CME. The hospital will also provide reimbursement for DEA, IL state license, board
certification, ACLS certification and renewals of these certifications. The hospital will also pay for up to six professional
organizational membership dues including but not limited to Franklin Hospital Medical Staff, Illinois State Medical Association,
American College of Physicians, American Medical Association, and Franklin County Medical Association. Franklin Hospital will
also provide up to three professional subscriptions of the physicians choice. Franklin Hospital will also provide generous
relocation package.
Franklin Hospital is a Critical Access Hospital located in Benton Illinois. CAH status allows the hospital to receive better
reimbursement for Medicare patients, assuring its financial stability. The hospital operates 25 beds and 24 hour emergency
room services. Franklin Hospital is a fully equipped hospital offering services including CT, Ultrasound, X-Ray, Bone
Densitometry, EKG, ECG, PFT, respiratory therapy; stress testing, mammography, sleep studies, senior outpatient counseling,
and telemedicine. The hospital has also upgraded its information technology allowing for teleradiology, telemedicine, and
paperless charting for those offices that choose to utilize it.
Benton, Illinois is a community of 6,000 located in southern Illinois. Benton is the county seat of Franklin County. The town is
located just a few miles south of Rend Lake, which is Illinois’s second largest man made lake. Rend Lake offers 162 miles of
shoreline and 19,000 acres of water area. Wayne Fitzgerrell State Park is adjacent to Rend Lake. Visitors and residents can
enjoy boating, water skiing, and swimming. In addition, there are camping, picnicking and restroom facilities provided at
